Live updates are below
We’ll be live blogging the full meeting of Cardiff Council, coverage starting at 4 PM live from County Hall.
The big topics on the agenda are:
- The potential withdrawl of the local development plan
- Whether councillor’s allowances will rise by 22 per cent
We’ll be posting live as the debates happen, including tweets by councillors, journalists and anyone else present at the meeting. You will be able to comment as the debate progresses and if you tweet with ‘cdfcouncil’ your tweet will show up here.
Live updates from Cardiff Council meeting
Unfortunately we had some technical problems at this point, but managed to carry on tweeting so take a look at all the #cdfcouncil tweets
16:35 – Rodney Berman currently defending proposed amendments to the previous council meeting minutes, proposed by Councillor Joyce.
16:26 – Interesting tweet from Coun John Dixon (Adamsdown) earlier on the issue of councillors allowances. He said he wouldn’t accept anymore money even if allowances were raised.
16:23 – Just had a quick chat with outgoing Mayor Brian Griffiths. He said he’s enjoyed his year as mayor and has learned a lot about what people think of the city. Seems like he enjoyed his fair share of civic functions as well. The Mayor also hosts a citizenship ceremony once a week and around 30 people every week are given citizenship of the city. A new mayor and deputy mayor will be voted in at the meeting today.
16:20 – Unfortunately cover it live doesn’t seem to have worked so going to be doing this the old fashioned (sort of way). County Hall filling up a bit now, media here from Guardian Cardiff and CJS as well.
