Record Store Day sees those cherished institutions, independent record stores, get a deserved pat on the back for all they contribute to independent music and its surrounding culture. This year, Spillers Records have organised a fantastic day of live music to celebrate.
Throughout the day there will be instore DJ and live sets from some of Wales’ finest acts, as well as exclusive releases and give-aways. So if you want to see the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Bethan Elfyn, The Automatic and many more whilst you browse round Wales’ oldest and most famous independent record shop, I would advise you to pop down to The Hayes on Saturday.
And, if a day jammed full of music and record shopping isn’t enough for you, the store is also putting on a show at Clwb Ifor Bach in the evening. With the awesome Gallops!, Cardiff up-and-comers VVolves, and much-loved headliners The Threatmantics all playing, it should be a day of independent music to remember.
