Whitchurch is looking to light up the village this Christmas

A village in North Cardiff is calling on the generosity of its shoppers and residents to help with its Christmas lights this year.

With the big Christmas Light switch on less than 14 weeks away, traders in Whitchurch are hoping to have raised the £8,000 needed to transform their village into a winter wonderland.

George Lazarou, who runs LaZarou Hair Salon, said: “This is about the community coming together and enjoying Christmas. We have collection tins at the Post Office in Whitchurch, and around the village.

“We are asking people to donate so that we can welcome people to our village this Christmas. We would like to think that people’s generosity will be repaid if we can draw Christmas shoppers to Whitchurch. Shopping locally is so important to the future of the village.”

Wednesday 17th November is the date for the diary this year when the Christmas lights will be switched on.
