The Cardiff Rivers Group will be out in force this weekend to clean up the Dock Feeder section of the River Taff as it runs through Bute Park.
The event on Saturday 18th September is part of the Tidy Wales Week and Louise Tambini from the group is urging volunteers to come prepared.
She said: “As usual, we will provide equipment and tools, and all volunteers are covered under our insurance. All you have to do is turn up in suitable clothing and wear sturdy footwear or wellies.
“If you have waders, wetsuits or bowsaws please bring them along as we will be going into the water where possible to remove rubbish and vegetation from the feeder itself.”
The meeting time is 9.45 AM. The meeting point is the Dock feeder in Bute Park by the ambulance station off North Rd. Turn left into the pay and display car park just before the traffic lights with the junction of Colum Road (or turn right almost immediately after the lights if coming into the City Centre) and park here. Walk down the slope (over the feeder) and past the Ambulance Station to reach the park. We will all meet at Dave’s burgundy truck.
