A website to help you trace stolen bikes in Cardiff has been setup.

Dafydd Meurig has put the finishing touches to a site that, like a lost cat poster, gives details of where the bike was stolen from, a picture of it and other information to help trace its whereabouts.

The site already features seven bikes that have been stolen and Dafydd said there’s another four to come.

Speaking to yourCardiff earlier this month he explained why the site had come about: “I saw a similar website in Bristol and thought it would work here. The idea is people send in when they’ve had their bike stolen and give me a description, picture and some details of when it was stolen. We post it on the website and people can send in if they have any information.

“I had a friend who was a victim of bike crime. She had a unique pink chopper bike, it was stolen and then I found it on Gumtree (the listings website) being sold in Llanrumeny. The police raided the house and recovered 15 stolen bikes.”

The site also features a map that shows where bikes have been reported stolen or missing in the city.
