Riverside guest house given new alcohol licence

January 14, 2011 2 Comments »

A Pontcanna guest house has been granted permission to serve alcohol at outside catering events.

Cardiff council’s licensing sub-committee made the decision to allow Elgano Guest Accommodation to provide alcohol for outside events and serve alcohol at private functions.

There was little objection to the proposals although two residents did express concerns regarding noise and access to a side road which is used by locals and guest house for parking.

Elgano director Hazel Bowen though said they have no plans to disturb locals and offer a very different service to nearby pubs such as the Cricketers.

She said: “We have no intention of having a public bar or inviting people to come in for drinking.”
