Looking back: Cardiff’s old pubs

cardiff old pubs

As the campaign to support our local pubs continues we take a moment to look back at some of the pubs that are no longer with us.

Dan O’Neil recalls the pubs Cardiff has lost, so make sure you let him know if you have any stories about the ones he remembers.

We’ve raided the archives and found these pictures of Cardiff’s lost and forgotten public houses.

If you have any memories of drinking in these pubs, any stories or any other photos let us know in the comments below.

My wedding ereception was held in the Angel in 1969. Used to drink at the Bristol with my then boyfiend (now husband) in 1966 in the pub and at lunch time when I worked at the Brewery. The Cow and Snuffers was the pub used by my late father-in-law when they first moved up to Llandaff North. I am also sure I have ahd drinks in the Taff Vale in the past. i ahve been in Australia since 1969 andit is quite noticeable on returns to Cardiff how many pubs have disappeard over the year. Sandra

I'd really like to see these pictures but they seem to have been taken down.
