Thornhill pub organises charity raffle for MRI scanner

A Cardiff pub will be auctioning off prizes for charity next month.

The Pendragon in Thornhill will be raising money for The Noah’s Ark Appeal to help get an ‘open’ MRI scanner for the Children’s Hospital of Wales, which costs £1.5 million.

The scanner will allow parents to lie beside their children during the traumatic experience of the scan – and would be the second of its kind in Europe.

Prizes at the Pendragon auction include tickets for the Gwent Dragons, Newport Races, Cardiff Blues, Llanelli Scarlets, signed Craig Bellamy ball and a block of twenty driving lessons.

The event begins at 7.30pm on Sunday 12th June and sealed bids for auction lots are being accepted. Anyone who wants more details is asked to contact Phil Jones on 07944353592.
