Travel advice for Take That fans issued

Travel advice for fans heading to the Take That gigs at the Millennium Stadium this week has been released.

The Progress tour takes place on Tuesday 14 June and Wednesday 15 June and 120,000 people are expected to watch the group perform over the two nights.

Gates open at 5pm on both days and Cardiff council is urging fans to leave their cars at home.

Two park and ride sites will be in operation at Leckwith and County Hall, costing £10 per car.

Leckwith will have a staff presence from 9.30am, County Hall will operate from 3.30pm.

The last returning bus to each park and ride will be at 11.30pm. A coach/minibus park and ride will operate at Sophia Close with the cost of £10 per coach.

Westgate Street will close from 5pm to 8pm and the following roads will close 8pm to 11.15pm:

– Kingsway from its junction with North Rd / Boulevard de Nantes to its junction with Duke St.
– Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Rd to its junction with Westgate St.
– Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with Wood St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
– Plantagenet St & Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
– Duke St
– Castle St
– High St
– St.Mary St
– Caroline St
– Wood St
– Central Sq
– Westgate St
– Quay St
– Guildhall Pl
– Golate
– Park St
– Havelock St & Scott Rd

    Erm.. High Street is always closed as it's pedestrianised surely? Unless someone's going to try and stop me walking down it…..?

      Means to all traffic – as at the moment some vehicles can access e.g. for deliveries
