Third phase of BigLittleCity exhibition begins

arcades project

The third installment of Cardiff’s BigLittleCity exhibition opens today to the public.

BigLittleCity is an interactive art project which showcases the work of local photographers and artists.

It opened in April and features among others the Cardiff Before Cardiff project, which captured photos from 1980s life in the city.

The new works on display will include photos from the Cardiff Arcades Project started by Amy Davies – who has guest posted on yourCardiff about her project.

The project is the brainchild of local photographer Dan Green.

He said: “We put a call out for artists to submit any work they felt reflected their city, and we were truly overwhelmed by the response. There’s something magical here that makes people feel passionate about Cardiff.

“We’ve really tried to make sure there is always something new for visitors with our interactive projects, but some people are on their tenth visit! With this final phase we will have even more for them to discover. Some of the artists involved in the final phase were strangers to us two months ago, but having a base here in the Cardiff Story has created a focal point which inspires people to get involved.”

The exhibition can be found upstairs at the Cardiff Story Museum in the Old Library building on The Hayes.

It’s open from 10am to 5pm (Monday to Saturday) and from 11am to 4pm on Sundays. The exhibition runs until 22nd July.

You can find out lots more about BigLittleCity on their website.
