History talks coming to Glamorgan Archives

A chance to learn about the history of the UK Parliament will be offered in Cardiff this summer.

Five history talks will take place at the Glamorgan Archives covering the Great Fire of Westminster, Suffragettes and how to find out about your family history using Parliamentary papers.

The full list of talks includes:

– Wednesday July 27 at 1pm -Sources for Local and Family History at the Parliamentary Archives.
– Wednesday August 10 at 1pm – Suffragettes and Parliament.
– Wednesday August 24 at 1pm -The Great Fire of Westminster.
– Wednesday September 7 at 1pm – 1834 Gems of the Parliamentary Archives.
– Wednesday September 14 at 1pm -The Parliamentary Archives and Communities.

The Glamorgan Archives in Lekcwith are home to 45,000 volumes, 60,000 plans and hundreds of other items.

    I think these talks are a great idea but why are they all during the working day? What about people who would like to go but are in work? Are we supposed to use our annual leave to attend?
