Men held on suspicion of robbery after incident at Riverside shop

Two men are currently in custody on suspicion of robbery following an incident at a shop in Riverside, Cardiff, yesterday evening.

Police were called to the store in Lower Cathedral Road at around 7pm to reports of a robbery in progress. A quantity of cash was stolen from the till.

Police have praised staff at the store and a member of the public who helped detain a suspect until officers arrived at the scene. A second man was arrested later in the evening.

CCTV shows a number of people outside S&S Stores during the incident and detectives are appealing for them to come forward as they might have important information.

A 31-year-old man from Ely and 26-year-old man from the city centre remain in police custody.
