Jessica will be in Chapter Arts Centre from 11am to 5.30pm on Wednesday to meet anyone who wants to get involved with yourCardiff

Last month yourCardiff welcomed new recruit Jessica Best on board to take charge of the website, bringing together Cardiff’s really local news, views, photographs and more.

Jessica has spent the last few weeks working to make sure yourCardiff is a great way of finding out what’s going on in your city, and somewhere you can have your say on what’s happening.

We’ve created a special election section with all the information you need before you go to the polls on May 3, used your responses on Twitter and Facebook to build a map of Cardiff’s litter hot spots, showcased picture galleries of community events across the city, and much more.

But yourCardiff wants you to get involved too. Some very kind people have already given up their time to guest blog for us, but today we are asking anyone who would like to contribute to the site to get in touch.

Whether you would like to help us cover events in your community, guest blog on anything from music and politics to technology and food, or simply want to have your say on a story we’ve covered, we want to hear from you.

Jessica said: “I’m working hard to make sure yourCardiff continues as a vibrant place to find all your community news in the city. But the site is called yourCardiff, so we want as many people as possible to be involved.

“You might want us to feature a review of a gig or restaurant you’ve been to, offer an alternative view point on a big issue in the city, or show off photographs of an event that hasn’t been picked up by anyone else. Whatever it is, please get in touch.”

If you’re interested in getting involved, or simply have something you want to let us know about, then e-mail jessica.best@trinitymirror.com, tweet us @yourCardiff or @jessicabest87, or call 02920 243612.

Jessica will also be working from the café at Chapter Arts Centre in Canton from 11am-5.30pm on Wednesday, so feel free to pop in and have a chat with her in person about getting involved, or any stories you want us to cover.

Glad that yourCardiff seems to be coming back to what it was in 2010, when it was outputting genuinely interesting, original content (I.e. not just a syndicate of The Echo).
