Television quiz show personality Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett is holding a special charity quiz in Cardiff next month.
The 46-year-old, who is a ‘chaser’ on ITV daytime quiz show The Chase, is posing the questions at the charity quiz in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre at Rhiwbina Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 25.
Mark, a qualified maths teacher, will run the quiz as his final charity commitment before spending four months filming a new series of the popular show.
“I guess I’m used to the sound of my own voice so doing a quiz like this is not too bad,” he said. “I try and be a little bit imaginative with my questions and rather than just a subject of history or geography there is a theme to it, like ads with colours.”
“For teams that are not so strong it gives them a little bit more help.
“Given my reputation people assume the questions will be Mastermind level. I want the odd one or two hard ones but I want people to feel clever for knowing the answer.”
Organiser Jayne Cowan said:
“We’re grateful to Mark for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and support this event. I’m sure he’ll have some great questions up his sleeve for what promises to be a fantastic night.”
The quiz evening will take place at Rhiwbina Baptist Church in Lon Ucha, Rhiwbina, on Wednesday, July 25. Doors open at 7.30pm with the quiz starting at 8pm.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from Jayne Cowan on 029 2062 7757 and 07970 013 332 or via e-mail from email@example.com.
