The Olympics arrive in Cardiff tomorrow, with the first action of the London 2012 Games taking place in the Welsh capital.
The city will host 11 Olympic football games between now and April 10, with Team GB’s women kicking off the action with their game against New Zealand tomorrow afternoon.
With Olympic sport comes Olympic sports fans, and despite concerns about slow ticket sales, thousands are expected to visit Cardiff over the next fortnight to catch one of the 11 football games.
And so, community project We Are Cardiff has prepared this lovely visitors’ guide to the city.
Helia Phoenix of We Are Cardiff said: “We Are Cardiff is a project that invites people who live in Cardiff to share their love for the city with the world. Through the website and our various exhibitions and workshops, we’ve been sharing your stories for two years. We think we have a pretty good idea of the things you like about the city (and the things you don’t).
“So, to welcome visitors to Cardiff who are coming to watch the football (or soccer, depending on your vernacular) we’ve put together our first city guide, drawing together our picks of the city. You can read it or download it as a PDF to read at your leisure.
“Do you agree with the things we’ve chosen? What else would you have included?”
Let us know what else you think should be in the guide in the comments below.
