Cardiff bloggers are being encouraged to enter this year’s Wales Blog Awards, with just over three weeks left until the deadline for entries.
More than 100 people from across Wales have entered the awards so far, with bloggers able to nominate their own work, or others can nominate blog writers they enjoy reading.
Categories for the awards – now in their third year – include best political blog, best community blog, best sports blog and best new blog. As well as the individual category winners, there will also be an overall award for best blog.
The deadline for nominations is August 17, and the winners judged by former best blog winner Ruth Davies, online journalists from WalesOnline Lorna Doran and Jessica Best, author Ifan Morgan Jones and Katie Chappelle from award organisers Warwick Emanuel PR.
Katie said: “There are so many people in Wales who write well and have something interesting to say, often on a niche subject. Last year we saw more than 200 entries from bloggers writing about everything from losing weight, to haiku poetry. These people might not have had a platform before blogging and now it is one of the most important channels for news and information.”
The competition is open to anyone who runs a non-professional blog, living in or writing about Wales. To enter, visit the Wales Blog Awards website.
