Victim left unconscious after metal bar assault in St Mellons

A man was left with a broken nose, fractured arm and bruising after being assaulted with a metal bar in St Mellons over the weekend.

South Wales Police are appealing for help from the local community in their investigation of the assault, which happened in the early hours of Sunday July 29, just after midnight.

The 44-year-old local victim sustained bruising, a broken nose, a fractured arm, and was left unconscious after being attacked with a metal bar by four teenagers in Oakland Close.

The force said the suspects are described as male, white, around 16-18 years old, wearing dark clothes and of slight build.

Sergeant Adam Reed said: “This was a vicious assault which left the victim unconscious.

“We have been carrying out numerous enquiries in the area since the incident and believe there will be people in the community who have information on those responsible.
