Fire crews were called to central Cardiff this morning to tackle a car fire behind the city’s central station.

The car fire was reported at the corner of Penarth Road and Ffordd Tresillian at 10.17am this morning.

The fire brigade were quick on the scene, and spent 19 minutes putting the blaze out. They said it was not a major incident and no one was injured.

South Wales Police said they cordoned off the road for a short time while the vehicle was recovered, and the cause was believed to be a mechanical fault.
