Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a woman in Rhiwbina in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The force said a woman was seen walking in a distressed state in the Pantbach Road area at around 2am on Tuesday September 4, and officers want to hear from any witnesses who may have seen her and can help identify her movements or anyone she was with.

The woman is described as white, 18 years old, 5ft5 tall, slim and with shoulder length dark hair with a red tint.

She was wearing a dark blue one-piece catsuit-type garment, a dark brown jacket, and could have been carrying a red handbag.

The woman’s purse and its contents were handed into Cathays Police Station overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, and officers would like the person who posted them through the police station door to contact them as soon as possible.

Anyone with information should contact Rumney CID on 029 20 774233 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
