Police release e-fit of suspect after sexual assault in St Mellons on Bonfire Night

Police released this e-fit of a suspect following the assault in St Mellons on Monday evening.

Police have released an e-fit of a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault in St Mellons on Bonfire Night.

South Wales Police said a 23-year-old woman was assaulted between 5pm and 5.30pm on November 5 when walking on the pathway that runs parallel with Rogerstone and Caerleon Close.

She became aware of a group of men walking in the opposite direction to her, before being surrounding and assaulted.

One of the men, who has been described as the ringleader of the group, is described as being white, aged in his early 20s, of stocky build, with yellow teeth, bushy eyebrows, and hair growth on his top lip. The e-fit is of this man.

Another man in the group, who had a tan-coloured bull mastiff type dog, is described as white, in his mid 20s, of stocky build with a eyebrow piercing to his left eyebrow, short cropped hair, and sunken eyes with a flat nose and wide nostrils.

Officers said the victim had been left very shaken by the incident, and appealed for anyone with information to contact CID at Rumney Police Station on 02920 774233 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
