Police want to trace this man in connection with an assault in Miss Millies on City Road last month,

Police investigating an assault in a Roath fast food restaurant last month have released an image of a man they want to identify.

A 29-year-old man was punched while in Miss Millies on City Road at around midnight on Saturday November 24.

The suspect, who appeared to be arguing with a female customer in the shop before the assault, drove off in a grey car which could have been a Volkswagen Golf.

Officers are also appealing to the woman seen arguing with the suspect to contact them.

PC Daniel Wood: “This was unprovoked assault which could have resulted in much worse injuries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Wood on 07584 004 460 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Honestly, having lived in Roath for over 10yrs now I am finally leaving the area, absolutely disgusted at what it has become. Incidents like this are becoming more commonplace. The area has changed from a once bustling, cosmopolitan area to a dirty, litter-ridden dump choc-full of Pawn and 'Cash for Gold' shops where a multitude of thieves come to sell their wares, honestly, just spend 5mins on Albany road watching who goes in and out of these places. The place is in need of some desperate re-generation and the Council needs to address the situation before Roath becomes a no-go area.
