There are less than 24 hours to go before the big day, and here at yourCardiff, we happen to think that Christmas Eve is almost as special as Christmas Day itself. All that anticipation, the family arriving in droves, and all that food just waiting to be eaten…

But don’t get too comfy in front the Christmas TV schedule just yet, because there’s lots to do in Cardiff on Christmas Eve. Here’s our round-up carol concerts, church services, midnight masses and festive events happening today. And from us here at yourCardiff, Merry Christmas!

9.40am: What better way to celebrate the real start of the Christmas holidays than with a visit to Cardiff Winter Wonderland. Skating sessions run today from 9.40am until 5.40pm, and you can book here.

From 10am: Visit Santa Claus at the Millennium Stadium, where he will be busy stocking his sleigh full of gifts on Christmas Eve. Families will get to see all the highlights of the normal stadium tour, including the Welsh rugby team’s home changing room and players’ tunnel, but with the added magic of finishing your stadium experience at Santa’s grotto. The tours last around 35 minutes, and run from 10am until 6pm. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £25, while a single adult ticket costs £5.50, and children two to eight-years-old will cost £8.50. To book call 029 2082 2308.

10am, 1pm, and 4pm: A Christmas Carol with Puppets. If you’re yet to go and see a Christmas show or pantomime, Theatre Giant will be putting on three performances of their show, A Christmas Carol with Puppets, today at the Copthorne Hotel. Starring Welsh BAFTA winner Stuart Brennan as Bob Cratchit, it’s a great show for all the family.
