The former Cardiff residence of composer and film actor Ivor Novello has been snapped up for close to its £350,000 asking price – and is to be leased as office space.
Novello House at 11 Cathedral Road, was lived in by Novello as a child after his family moved from a house on Cowbridge Road East.
It was sought after by Novello’s mother because she needed somewhere bigger in order to house her collection of pianos.
And Novello is thought to have composed the famous Keep the Home Fires Burning while living there.
Yesterday it was revealed the sale had been negotiated by commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and secured by property investment firm Richard Parfitt Associates (RPA) Investments Ltd.
It will be occupied on 10-year leases by RPA and a company specialising in digital hearing aids called Hidden Hearing.
