Man left with head and facial injuries after Llanrumney assault

A man has been left with head and facial injuries following a serious assault in Llanrumney.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault in Burnham Avenue at around 5pm on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old victim suffered injuries to his head and face, and is in a stable condition at the University Hospital of Wales.

A 16-year-old man has been arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and was due to appear before Cardiff Magistrates this morning.

Officers said they were continuing to investigate the incident, and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Terry Lee of Rumney CID said: “This was a very serious assault and we are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“There would have been people in and around this area at the time of the assault and we are appealing to anyone who may have any information to come forward.”
