Officers appeal for victim of St Mary Street assault to come forward

Police are appealing for the victim of an assault on St Mary Street in December to come forward as they continue to investigate the incident.

Officers said the affray happened at around 3.10am on Thursday December 28 2012, when two men were seriously assaulted.

One of the victims was left with facial injuries, and a second man was seen being kicked and hit outside the Spar shop on St Mary Street by up to 10 men.

After witnesses intervened, the second victim left before police arrived. Police want to trace this man, described as a black male, and anyone else with information about the assault.

Two men, aged 17 and 26, have been charged with affray and are on police bail.
