Phone snatched in Cathays street robbery

Police are appealing for information after a street robbery in Cathays in the early hours of Friday morning.

South Wales Police said a woman was approached from behind as she walked alone along Miskin Street at around 3.10am on this morning, by a man who snatched her phone before running off towards Senghennydd Road.

The suspect is described as being dark skinned, possibly Asian or mixed race, 5ft6 tall, with a proportionate build, and was wearing a light coloured, long sleeved, and possibly hooded top, with red chinos or jeans.

Anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the area in the early hours of Friday morning, or who thinks they might know who is responsible for the robbery, should contact DC Simmons at Cardiff Central Police station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
