Kind-hearted children and their parents braved yesterday’s bitter conditions to take part in a sponsored walk around Bute Park.
Walk for Life is held annually by Kidney Wales and this year’s event saw children carrying placards with the Kidney Wales logo on it and riding scooters on the two mile route around the park.
For years Wales only had two dialysis treatment centres, but Kidney Wales has worked hard to raise money to change this and provide the sort of equipment and care patients desperately need.
Welsh celebrities Katherine Jenkins and Alex Jones are patrons of the charity and have been involved in Kidney Wales’ annual Walk for Life event and the Cardiff 10k run.
Walk for Life events took place in 38 other locations across Wales yesterday and this year the charity hopes to raise more than £100,000.
